Dubai Diary

As the winter is on its way, the perfect getaway for us appeared to be Dubai. Ideal destination to escape from the cold weather at home.
Palm trees, ocean breeze & salty hair in November is exacly what I needed. We had one week to explore Dubai but I have to admit that my biggest wish was to lay on the beach as long as I could.

We arrived almost at midnight in Dubai and we took an Uber from the airport to our hotel (situated next to the Mall of Emirates). The only thing that we did was to unpack and rest.

Day 1   After we had breakfast we went to the Jumeirah beach next to Burj Al Arab Hotel. The ocean was really warm and quiet, just perfect for me 🙂 Before we arrived in there we drove past the houses next to beach, all painted in white.

Day 2   One of the most active days of our vacation. In the morning we had a lovely walk on Dubai Marina promenade which was the only long walk that we did in there. The distances from a neighbourhood to another are quite long and is impossible to walk( I recommend to use Uber).

Later we went to discover Deira and The Gold Souk, a famous spot where you can find plenty of shops selling gold and other jewelry. At night we visited the Dubai Mall. Definitely the biggest mall I have ever seen and if you are looking for a specific brand for sure you will find it in there. But it’s not all about shopping,  there is an aquarium, underwater zoo,as well as an ice rink and yes, they also have a Vogue cafe.

Day 3  #poolsituation morning

And yes! The most memorable day was the one that we spent in the desert. Safari, camel riding, sand-boarding and belly dancing during your dinner. That’s what it is about! For me it didn’t felt right to ride the camel but I wanted to say hello.

Day 4   One of the main attractions in Dubai are the Palm Islands. We went to Nasimi Beach, next to Atlantis The Palm hotel. Magnifique! White sand, crystal water, great music and matchy decor. I totally recommend this beach in Dubai!

Later we took a cruise around The Palm where we caught the sunset. It was so relaxing, best feeling ever! We miss the chance to visit the Miracle Gardens this time but I am sure we will be back.

At night we went to have dinner at Carluccio’s, Dubai Marina -the pumpkin panzerotti are to die for and the… homemade ginger ale!! Yummy!

Day  5   It was all about laying at the beach and enjoying the great weather. That kind of day when you are gratefull and appreciate every moment.

Day 6  On our last full day here we booked our tickets for At the Top, Burj Khalifa. I am that kind of person that is afraid of hights but I didn’t wanted to leave without experience the view from the world’s tallest building.

Of course we went to say bye to the ocean and we had a nice night drive thru the city.

We celebrated here 2 important events: our 3rd anniversary & Tamar’s 30th Bday 🙂

Time to go home and plan a new adventure!

Warm & Sunny Hugs,
